The exhibition “The Sky Turned Out to Be the Sea” is an intimate project that consists of 13 works, created between 2017 and 2024 and united by the theme of silence.
The artist attributes her practice to magical realism, in which the “idea” plays the main role and the means of its expression (medium) are secondary — from painting to installation and performance.
The theme of silence, as a broad philosophical and spiritual concept, appears in the artistic practice of Tati Voronina not by chance — the artist’s first profession was in news journalism, an area of extraordinary concentration of noise and information.
The title of the project is a line from a short poem by the artist, written in 2018.
